“ A great seafood place! We went during resturant week, and the deal/menu was a very good one! I don't like the decor or vibe in here... it seems very old to me. But, I did like the fish tanks that were everywhere and tvs so it was nice to watch something while we waited. One of us got the restaurant week deal which was the shrimp sampler for an appetizer, the surf and truffle for an entree, and cheesecake for dessert all for like $40! Very big portions, so we were impressed. I got the oysters, which were amazing, and my dad got the tuna steak, which he said was delicious. Service was great, and my oysters came out the same time the rest of the entrees did. My mom said the wine she got tasted old, so I wouldn't recommend getting that here. But, overall it was a pretty good seafood place. Not much on the menu other than seafood though. ”
“ I have not been to this location in quite a while, and that may have to change! My friends and I were curious about their $45 Restaurant Week menu, so we headed over there. First up was the Oyster Bar for drinks. They have a fairly decent wine menu, so I stayed there. Their happy hour specials change up, so be sure to check that out before you go. Our friend got an impressive plate of raw oysters - they were large and she said they were quite tasty!! We headed to our reserved table, and had the BEST server - Ariana. She was simply delightful and on her toes. Her suggestions were on point. No one had any bad dish, for sure. My selection was the bacon wrapped shrimp with a red pepper oil. They were a little small, but it was the appetizer and I didn't want to fill up. I then chose the surf and turf, medium rare, and wow - the steak was like butter, so tender, and the didn't smother it in butter, spices, or sauce, they let the meat the be star! Delicious. It was topped with large fresh shrimp. It had a side of their twice baked potato and a piece of garlic bread. It was the right amount of food and I left with lunch for the next day. We all got the lemonade pie, and it was fresh, light, and didn't take away from what we had just eaten. Overall, this was a really great experience. They do have a great patio for events and rentals, so keep that in mind. I could certainly pop over and try their seasonal specials, like their Mardi Gras specials. ”
“ This place is a Baton Rouge classic and the bar is always high. I don't make it here often but it never disappoints whenever I do visit. The food was phenomenal. Onion rings were crispy and crunchy. The house salad with the house dressing so everything a garlic lover wants/needs! And the entrees were amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Our server Catie was so sweet and literally at our beck and call. My glass was never empty and she was great at suggesting things when I wasn't sure what I wanted to order. She also took the time to discuss the menu and her favorite items on it. She was amazing. Definitely check this place out for good Louisiana classic dishes! ”
“ Stopped by for dinner during an unexpected trip to Baton Rouge. It also happened to be during an LSU game. Service was a little slow (but it was very busy) and the restaurant was freezing cold (bring a sweater!) Food was excellent, the drink was okay, but that lemonade pie made up for all of it. ”
“ Service was really good! Food was hot and very tasty. We came for lunch and it was very busy but it was still great service. Ambiance was good for any occasion! ”
“ Ordered the lunch fried catfish which came with five pieces of fried catfish, one hushpuppy, and a side. It was the perfect amount of food even though I would have liked more than one hushpuppy. For my side, I chose the stuffed potato which was excellent. The catfish was super fresh and fried perfectly. I just wish they would completely remove the gray line in the catfish before frying. Waitress was nice and service was fast. I was able to get in and out in under an hour. This place does get busy on the weekdays for lunch so be prepared to wait if you do not arrive right when it opens. Restaurant is nice on the inside and has a big parking lot. ”
“ I've gotta say, I'm IMPRESSED! Plenty of locals said you can't go wrong anywhere - but we decided to go with one mentioned a few times: Mike Anderson's. It has a similar ambiance as chili's, but with better food (and more live fish). Fish Chips and Dip? Oh man... fried catfish chips with spinach dip is a new one for me.. absolutely killer. 8.3/10 Lobster poboy? Even better... 9.2/10 You really can't go wrong here. Enjoy! ”
